A floor shot blasting machine is the industry gold standard for mechanical surface preparation, delivering consistent, high-quality results that manual grinding or sandblasting cannot match. Unlike abrasive methods that rely on high-pressure air or rotating discs, this technology uses centrifugal force to accelerate hardened steel shots at precise angles onto the target surface. The high-velocity impact strips away contaminants, weak surface layers and old coatings while creating a uniform, textured profile that dramatically improves adhesion of subsequent materials.
At YG, we engineer premium floor shot blasting machines built around this proven technology, with every component optimized for durability, efficiency and ease of use. Our closed-loop system not only cleans surfaces effectively but also automatically separates and recycles usable steel shots, minimizing waste and operating costs. This makes our machines the preferred choice for contractors, road maintenance teams and industrial facilities worldwide.

YG Floor Shot Blasting Machine Applications
- Bridge deck waterproofing pretreatment: Removes concrete laitance, oil stains and surface impurities; creates a uniform rough profile that ensures 100% adhesion of waterproofing membranes; prevents water infiltration and rebar corrosion to extend bridge service life by decades.
- Municipal road and parking lot maintenance: Completely strips faded traffic markings, worn coatings and tire rubber deposits; simultaneously increases surface roughness and friction coefficient; reduces skidding accidents in wet conditions without damaging the underlying pavement.
- Asphalt pavement performance restoration: Cleans oxidized surface layers and oil stains from asphalt roads; roughens smooth, worn asphalt to restore original skid resistance; eliminates the need for expensive milling and resurfacing for minor wear issues.
- Airport runway and taxiway maintenance: Efficiently removes heavy rubber deposits from aircraft tire contact; strips old navigation markings; restores critical surface friction levels; reduces aircraft stopping distances and hydroplaning risks during takeoff and landing.
- Industrial factory floor renovation: Strips old epoxy, polyurethane and paint coatings from concrete floors; repairs surface imperfections and removes laitance; prepares surfaces for new coatings with superior bonding strength compared to grinding methods.

Optimal Operating Conditions For Maximum Performance
- Surface preparation: The work surface should be relatively flat, with a maximum unevenness of less than 10mm. It must be free of standing water and relatively dry, as moisture can cause steel shots to clump and reduce cleaning efficiency. The maximum allowable slope for operation is 25 degrees.
- Temperature range: The floor shot blasting machines operate reliably in temperatures from -20°C to 60°C. When blasting steel surfaces, the surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent flash rusting immediately after cleaning.
- Humidity limits: For steel surface blasting, the relative humidity should not exceed 90%. For concrete blasting, the maximum allowable relative humidity is 95%. Higher humidity levels can cause moisture to be trapped in the surface, leading to coating adhesion problems.
- Altitude and weather: We design concrete floor shot blasters for use at altitudes up to 3000 meters above sea level. You should not operate them during rain or snowfall, as moisture will damage the electrical components and compromise cleaning results.
Environmental And Safety Advantages Of Dust-Free Operation
Traditional surface preparation methods such as sandblasting and grinding, generate large amounts of airborne dust that pose serious health risks to workers and cause environmental contamination. Silica dust from concrete grinding, in particular, can cause irreversible lung disease including silicosis.
Our concrete floor shot blaster eliminates these risks with its fully enclosed dust collection system. All dust and debris are captured at the source and contained in sealed bins, with no airborne dust escaping into the work environment. This allows you to work in occupied areas such as warehouses, parking garages, and retail spaces without disrupting other operations or requiring extensive containment measures. Dust-free operation also simplifies waste disposal and helps you comply with strict environmental regulations. The steel shots are highly reusable, with a consumption rate as low as 10 grams per square meter, minimizing waste generation and reducing your environmental footprint. A floor blasting machine not only improves productivity but also creates a safer, healthier workplace for your team.

FAQ About Floor Shot Blasting Machine
A: Shot blasting uses high-velocity steel shots to clean and texture the surface, while grinding uses rotating diamond discs. Shot blasting creates a more uniform, deeper profile that provides better coating adhesion, and it is significantly faster for large surface areas. It also produces less dust when used with a proper collection system.
A: The lifespan of steel shots depends on the type of surface you clean and your operating conditions. On average, you can reuse steel shots 2000-3000 times before they become too small to be effective. Our machines have a very low shot consumption rate, making them extremely cost-effective to operate.
A: Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing worn shot wheel blades, cleaning the dust filters and inspecting all moving parts for wear. We provide detailed maintenance schedules and easy access to all serviceable components, so most routine maintenance can be performed by your own staff with basic tools.
We design the machines for horizontal surface preparation, including floors, roads, runways and bridge decks. We do not intend them for vertical surface blasting.
