Complete Tire Recycling Production Process
Stage 1: Tire Pretreatment (Core Size Reduction)
This stage converts whole intact tires into uniform rubber chunks while removing the heaviest steel components:
- Tire wire drawing: Whole waste tires first enter the tire wire drawing machine, which extracts the thick steel wires from the tire bead openings. This step prevents steel wires from damaging downstream cutting equipment and produces clean, sellable steel scrap directly.
- Primary shredding: The de-wired tires are then fed into the rubber tire shredder machine. Equipped with an optional adjustable screen, it tears tires into 3- 8 cm uniform rubber chunks. The screen can be changed to produce different chunk sizes based on your end market needs.
- For operators processing large truck tires or OTR tires, an optional tire cutter can be added before shredding to split oversized tires into smaller pieces for easier processing.
Stage 2: Rubber Powder Deep Processing
This stage further refines rubber chunks into high-purity fine rubber powder, separating all residual steel and nylon fibers:
- Secondary crushing: Rubber chunks enter the cracker mill (rubber crusher), which grinds them into smaller particles through high-pressure rolling.
- Primary screening: The ground material passes through a main screener to separate particles of different sizes. Oversized particles are sent back to the cracker mill for re-grinding.
- Magnetic separation: The material then goes through a three-roll magnetic separator, which extracts 99% of residual steel wires embedded in the rubber. The collected steel wires are automatically discharged and collected for sale.
- Final screening: A secondary fine screener classifies the rubber particles into different grades according to size.
- Cooling & fiber separation: The rubber powder passes through a cooling system to reduce processing temperature, then enters an air separator, which blows out and removes all lightweight nylon fibers from the rubber powder.
- Finished product collection: The final pure rubber powder is conveyed to storage silos or packaging stations.
